Virginia Safety & Emissions Inspector

Gallows Road Automotive is seeking a qualified, detail-oriented, and experienced Virginia State Vehicle Safety and Emissions Inspector to join our team. This position is primarily responsible for conducting state-mandated safety and emissions inspections in full compliance with Virginia regulations. While inspection duties are the primary focus, the selected candidate may occasionally assist with general automotive maintenance and repairs as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Virginia State Safety and Emissions Inspections in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and procedures
  • Accurately document inspection results and clearly communicate findings to customers
  • Maintain and properly use all inspection tools and equipment
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements
  • Provide professional, transparent customer service regarding inspection outcomes
  • Assist with general automotive service and repairs on a secondary basis, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Current Virginia State Vehicle Safety Inspector License and Emissions Certification (required), must be active, up to date, and verifiable with proof
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant automotive or inspection experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance
  • Proven diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • ASE certification is a plus
